Qi2 is an updated version of the ubiquitous wireless charging standard. What sets it apart from the original is a ring of magnets used to align the coils in the charger and the device.

Qi2 is available natively in Google’s Pixel 10 series and available in other devices via “Qi2 Ready,” which uses cases and other accessories.

Galaxy S26 wireless charging is a mess, Qi2 25W speeds sound near-impossible to find

Wireless charging is very much moving in the direction of Qi2 and magnetic alignment, but Samsung stubbornly continues to avoid putting magnets inside of its phones, with the Galaxy S26 series forgoing this yet again. And, from the sound of it, that’s making the faster Qi2 25W wireless charging found on Galaxy S26 Ultra a tough thing to actually get working.

Qi2 car chargers are the most convenient, yet frustrating Pixel 10 accessories

I think it’s safe to say that Qi2 has been the most meaningful part of upgrading to the Pixel 10, at least for me. I’m finding magnetic accessories invaluable in day-to-day life, and I’m not alone. One of my favorite ways to use Qi2 on the Pixel 10 is with car chargers as it’s probably the most convenient place to use the tech, yet also one of the most frustrating.
