At CES we checked out the New Balance RunIQ Android Wear smartwatch. What made it unique was its focus on running and other fitness tracking features without being obnoxiously large or ugly. If you were interested in picking one up for yourself, we have good news, it is now available for $299…
The New Balance RunIQ was originally announced over a year ago and built in conjunction with Intel specifically with runners in mind. Although the body of the watch is made out of plastic and features a silicon watchband, the RunIQ did feel premium on the wrist during our limited time playing with it.
One of the best features of the RunIQ is its built-in GPS capabilities. This means that you can still go for a run and track your location without the need to bring along your smartphone. Additionally, the smartwatch features an optical heart rate sensor which you can enable to run constantly if you want precise measurements of your heart rate throughout an exercise.
If you would like to know more about the New Balance RunIQ you can read our hands on review here or watch our quick hands-on video with the smartwatch below.
The New Balance RunIQ is available to purchase for $299 on Amazon or directly from New Balance. Unfortunately, it only comes in a one size fits all variant and doesn’t offer any color options other than black.
