It’s ridiculous to think that some major, recent Android Wear releases still haven’t picked up Android Wear 2.0, but alas, here we are. Yesterday was supposed to mark the date that ASUS would finally provide ZenWatch 3 owners with the latest flavor of Android Wear, but that deadline has come and gone. Luckily, there might be some good news here.
Android Wear 2.0’s rollout to the wide variety of wearables set to receive it has been slow, to say the least. Many watches still lack the update, but one of the biggest releases yet to pick it up has been ASUS’ ZenWatch line. Recently, ASUS finally gave us some concrete information on when its Wear 2.0 rollout will begin.
Android Wear 2.0 debuted on the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style earlier this month, but Google wasn’t planning on stopping there. The company worked with various Android Wear makers to craft a lengthy list of watches that would also be updated, but so far, no updates have been pushed. Now, ASUS is providing a more specific time frame for that rollout.
Smartwatches still haven’t proven themselves to me. I was quick to jump on the Android Wear train with the launch of the LG G Watch, but since, this Android Wear ride has been nothing more than mundane. I think one of the easiest ways to sum up my underwhelming experience is to say that this watch — the third generation of the budget “ZenWatch” line from ASUS — is almost functionally identical to the Moto 360 that launched two years ago.
That’s not to say that this watch is bad. It’s actually pretty good. It actually might be the best Android Wear device that you can buy right now. But for me, that’s not enough. It has required discipline to go out of my way for the last week to wear this thing, and I probably won’t keep wearing it every day from now on. But this review isn’t about me; don’t let me sway you if you’re dead-set on getting a smartwatch. If you are, the ASUS ZenWatch 3 might be a great option for you…
ASUS said earlier this month that the company’s new ASUS ZenWatch 3 would be available sometime around early November, and now the company is making good on its promise. Just a little bit earlier than expected, the circular ASUS ZenWatch 3 Android Wear smartwatch is now available on the company’s own website…
ASUS first launched the ZenFone 3 lineup quite a while ago, and first mentioned its new ZenWatch 3 at IFA last month. But it wasn’t until now that we had any information on when any of these devices would launch in the US. It looks like all of the ZenFone 3 variants are now up for pre-order on ASUS’ website (watch assumably coming soon), and should be shipping within the month…
ASUS announced the ZenWatch 3 a couple days ago, and we were at the event to get our hands on the new Android Wear offering. IFA has been crazy, though, and it’s sometimes not easy to get videos up as quicky as you would like. Here’s a quick look at the new circular-display Android Wear device…
ASUS has today announced the ZenWatch 3 at IFA in Berlin, Germany, the latest entry in its family of Android Wear smartwatches. The company most well-known in the Android Wear space as being the budget smartwatch maker has continued that trend with the ZenWatch 3, but this time bringing a much more stylish watch with a circular display and three side buttons…
We’ve been hearing whispers of Samsung’s plans to introduce the Gear S3 and Lenovo has somewhat teased a new Moto 360, but the word on the street is that ASUS is also planning a smartwatch announcement for IFA 2016. Now, a set of images (via ePrice) from China’s National Communications Commission (essentially the country’s version of the FCC) have revealed what appears to be the new ZenWatch 3 in the flesh…
With last year’s ASUS ZenWatch 2 proving to be a popular low-cost option, we’re excited to see what the company has in store for the ZenWatch 3. While not many details have leaked yet, a recent listing at the FCC has given us our first look at what to expect.
