While Wear OS has fallen out of favor for some, it’s still in use on some of Casio’s rugged smartwatches. Today, the brand is expanding Wear OS to one of its iconic lines, the Casio G-Shock.

Casio has been on the Wear OS train for quite a while, and today, it’s announcing another new option. The Casio ProTrek WSD-F21HR carriers a lower price tag, similar rugged design, and finally, a heart rate monitor.
Casio has long been on the Android Wear (and lately, Wear OS) train, and now the company is doubling down with the release of yet another Pro Trek smartwatch. This one, called the WSD-F20A (good luck remembering that name), brings the slew of unique Pro Trek features at a lower price point.

Android Wear has made its way to quite a few styles of smartwatches, but few have been as, striking as those from Casio. The Casio WSD-F10 rugged smartwatch certainly turned heads at last year’s CES and for 2017, Casio has refreshed that watch with a few key additions.
Casio’s ultra-rugged WSD-F10 might be the most durable Android Wear device on the market, but it looks like only a handful of people will be able to get their hands on the device. Speaking to Wearable.com, Casio stated that the company currently does not have plans to bring the smartwatch to any additional countries. Currently, the WSD-F10 is available in the United States and Japan only.
At this year’s CES, Casio kicked off the trend of rugged smartwatches running Android Wear. Unlike other gadgets announced at CES, the Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 will be available starting next week from multiple retailers for $500.
Casio is widely known for making more traditional digital watches, but they’ve in fact been a long time exhibitor at CES. Last year, they announced a GPS connected watch. This year they are showing off an Android Wear smartwatch geared for outdoor usage.
