Sony Xperia XZ, X Performance, Verizon LG G5 pick up Android Nougat

A little over 4 months after its release on Nexus devices, Android Nougat is finally starting to pick up steam after some pretty dismal distribution numbers during its first couple of months. Recently we’ve seen the likes of HTC updating unlocked devices, and LG updating international and local G5 units, Samsung pushing out betas, and even Huawei sub-brand Honor working to update devices to Google’s latest OS. Today, even more devices are picking up Android Nougat.

I’m already late to the game on this one, but now seemed just as good a time as ever to share some of my thoughts on Sony’s mid-2016 flagship performer. Basically, this is the Xperia X with a Snapdragon 820. We already gave you our full review of the Xperia X, and most of what we said there rings true with this phone. Xperia X Performance owners can now try Android Nougat beta in some countries

Earlier this year, Sony began offering an early Developer Preview version of Android Nougat to owners of older Xperia Z handsets. Now, the company (via XperiaBlog) is apparently offering an early beta of Android 7.0 Nougat to owners of the Xperia X Performance as well. Unfortunately, it’s only available to people in select countries…
