T-Mobile has announced its latest “un-carrier” initiative, dubbed “Un-carrier Unwrapped.” Rather than a permanent addition to the company’s offerings, Un-carrier Unwrapped is a month-long event during which the carrier will gift its subscribers and new customers with special deals and benefits.
The first of those was announced today: unlimited LTE data for all subscribers on Simple Choice post-paid plans for the next three months.

Verizon has finally announced the release date for its variant of the LG G3. According to a listing on the carrier’s website (via Android Central), you’ll be able to get the upcoming smartphone on July 17th, although you can pre-order it right now. That puts the release two days behind T-Mobile’s launch and one day behind AT&T.
The phone will run for $99 on a two-year contract, which comes in at $100 less than AT&T’s price. Getting the phone on Verizon’s EDGE plan will cost $29.99 a month for 20 months, which matches AT&T’s offer. T-Mobile also recently began accepting pre-orders on it’s own plan, which requires no money down and spreads the cost of the phone over 24 monthly payments of $24.95.

T-Mobile has just announced at its “Uncarrier 5.0” event (which apparently double as the Uncarrier 6.0 event) that all streaming music services will now be free to stream on T-Mobile, including iTunes Radio, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker Radio, and Spotify.
Any streaming you do will always be done over the company’s fastest available network, and won’t count towards your high-speed data limit.
Customers can visit T-Mobile’s website to request new services to be added to the “music freedom” selection. As streaming services gain votes, they will be added to the program.

T-Mobile finally takes advantage of MetroPCS merger, will use new spectrum to enhance LTE network
All Things D reports that T-Mobile is finally taking advantage of this year’s MetroPCS merger. The fourth-largest mobile carrier in the U.S. plans to use the new spectrum to offer even faster speeds on its LTE network nationwide. Some markets are already seeing an increase in speed, and more will see faster service next year. The company says it hopes to cover up to 90% of its current subscriber base with improved service.
In direct contrast to this data network improvement, T-Mobile is also planning to launch new pre-paid plans with no data allowance included, according to TMo News. The carrier confirmed that the new plans will come with unlimited talk and text, but will not include any data. These new pre-paid plans will be available on December 8th, the same day AT&T is launching its new selection of plans.

T-Mobile unveiled a new offering that will provide global data coverage allowing users to access their data plan in over 100 countries at no extra charge (via Engadget). CEO John Legere has been hinting at the announcement on his Twitter account in recent days: “Today is the day! The day we change the way the world uses their phones!”
This new plan will allow Simple Choice customers to get unlimited 2G data and texting in supported Simple Global countries. Voice calls on the plan cost $.20 per minute for in-country calls. There are no extra fees for this service, as it is included in all Simple Choice plans automatically.
The “un-carrier” also announced a few other changes to its plans, including a new international talk and text option from the US to all other Simple Global countries. That will cost an additional $10/month and include $.20/minute voice calls and unlimited texting. Adding this option to your plan will also enable unlimited calling to landlines in over 70 Simple Global countries for free.
Finally, T-Mobile announced that its 4G LTE network is available nationwide and reaches over 200 million potential customers.

T-Mobile’s Nexus 4 to support Wi-Fi calling
Many reports assumed T-Mobile’s version of the Nexus 4 would not have Wi-Fi calling, but a T-Mobile Connectivity and Data page for the device just confirmed support for the feature.
To use the feature: T-Mobile customers need to get a specific GBA SIM card, register their 911 address, turn on Wi-Fi, and then connect to a Wi-Fi network. Pretty straightforward. Now go check out our hands-on review of the LG Nexus 4.
