Two weeks after it started rolling out, Wear OS 5.1 is now available on all three generations of the Pixel Watch. Here’s everything new with the first update in four months. 

The Google Pixel 9a has now officially launched in 32 countries across the globe – making this the most widely available A-series phone ever.

After previewing last October, Google Wallet will soon let supervised kids access NFC tap-to-pay on Android phones. Google announced it alongside the Pixel 9a today.

Google today announced the Pixel 9a as its mid-range phone for 2025. We’ve had some hands-on time and it feels like its own design compared to past Pixel devices. 

Since launch, the Gemini app has required that you sign in with your Google Account to access. That’s no longer the case.

After rolling out to a third of available devices two weeks ago, the Wear OS 5.1 update is now available for the LTE Pixel Watch 3 and 2, as well as the original Pixel Watch.

Less than a week after the main release, Google is rolling out Android 16 Beta 3.1 to Pixel devices. Some of the addressed bugs impacted day-to-day usage.

Following the Android announcement last week, Gemini is set to replace Google Assistant on Chromebooks.

Samsung has officially set the date for its next major Galaxy update – One UI 7 – with the rollout starting in the first week of March. With One UI 7, the Galaxy AI suite is adding some new features, but Samsung has confirmed that not all of the new additions will be available across all devices.

Google now maintains an updated list of third-party “Made for Google” screen protectors that have been certified and “tested to ensure compatibility with Pixel phones” and the fingerprint sensor.

AI has played a large role in disseminating information to users from thousands of sources, and healthcare is a massive search category with proprietary search functions. Google announced that Search is adding a new function that will showcase user suggestions sourced from online discussions to suggest something for that pain in your left side.

Remember the Pebble Time 2? The long-awaited, modern-looking Pebble that was supposed to launch in 2016 had the hearts of fans at the time, but was brutally killed when Fitbit bought the company, leaving the hardware to never actually ship. Finally, though, that dream is being realized as the “Core Time 2” will be launching later this year, and it has some big upgrades.

Just shy of nine years after their initial debut, Pebble’s second-gen smartwatches are officially making a comeback with the original founder’s new company, “Core Devices,” reviving the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 as the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2, shipping starting in July with updated hardware and the same appeal as the Pebble smartwatches that came before.

Following last week’s model updates, Google is rolling out Audio Overviews and a new Canvas tool to the Gemini app. 

Samsung is set to release two new flip phone foldables this year, but the “Galaxy Z Flip FE” is reportedly launching “months” after the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Roku users have run into autoplaying ads when their first turn their TVs on lately, which Roku says is a “test.”

Google is switching its Tensor production to TSMC for this upcoming generation and, to make that happen, Tensor G5 will reportedly incorporate a selection of off-the-shelf components to replace Samsung-made portions of prior chips, including the use of a fully custom ISP.
