Nest has now said that it wants to ‘help’ owners of Revolv home hubs after it announced on Monday that it would be completely disabling the devices, turning them into a useless hunk of plastic.

Nest last night tweeted an invitation to owners to email them in order to find “the best solution” to the situation …

Engadget tried to clarify with Nest what that solution might be, and was given a vague reply but told that it could involve compensation. A full refund would seem reasonable in the circumstances. If you’re a Revolv owner, you can email, and please let us know the outcome.

Nest does not appear to be enjoying the happiest of times at present, with key engineers leaving the company, others reportedly ‘crying in bathrooms‘ and the Alphabet division’s future funding unclear.
