The first post-launch update for the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 is beginning to roll out for some users.

The monthly “Google System Release Notes” primarily detail what’s new in Play services, Play Store, and Play system update across Android phones/tablets, Wear OS, Google/Android TV, Auto, and PC. Some features apply to end users, while others are aimed at developers.

Following last week’s announcement, we are now seeing Gemini’s new “Talk Live about this” capability on the Pixel 9 series. 

Add Me is one of the Pixel 9’s tentpole camera features, and Google has a blog post today explaining how it was developed. Personally, I’ve noticed that people didn’t really use Add Me until the holiday season.

Still in testing, Google Messages has made a small color tweak to the upcoming redesign of RCS read receipts that makes the indicator bolder.

Back in October, Gmail redesigned its summary cards to be more glanceable and actionable, with the updated Google Calendar card now available. 

The last big update to the Pixel Sounds app/service introduced a “Gems” ringtone and alarm collection with the Pixel 8 in 2023. Google is now working on letting you set different Pixel vibration patterns. 

While we wait for the next Wear OS update in March, Google is adding a confirmation step to Pixel Watch’s Emergency SOS safety feature to prevent accidental activations “during activities like exercise.”

Google is widely rolling out a redesign of the Gemini overlay and homepage on Android.

After first coming to the Public Preview program, the Google Home Gemini Extension is now rolling out to all users. Google tells us that it will be fully available over the coming weeks. 

Following the announcement in December, Google is now rolling out Android’s Identity Check security feature to Pixel devices. It’s also coming to “One UI 7 eligible Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.”

Announced alongside the Galaxy S25 and new Gemini features, the Circle to Search redesign is beginning to roll out today.

Google has been slowly rolling out a redesign of Gemini overlay on Android and more beta users are now seeing it as of Monday morning. 

Most of the user-facing health and exercise features on the Pixel Watch are powered by the Fitbit Wear OS app and an update is rolling out today.
