You can now buy the waterproof HTC RE camera for just $50 shipped (Reg. $200)

HTC’s RE camera hasn’t exactly been the blowout hit, and at least a few times over the last several months we’ve seen it as low as $100 brand-new. Now, you can buy the HTC RE from the company’s website for just $50 shipped, which is $150 less than its regular $200 retail price and the lowest price we’ve seen.

The HTC RE, importantly, has a waterproof build — which makes it the obvious choice for water sports and outdoors filming. The camera also sports a 146° wide angle lens, and a 16-megapixel, 1/2.3″ Sony CMOS sensor. It has just one button, made for when you’re out with friends and just want to quickly capture a moment.

HTC’s website is currently offering the device in four colors: silver, orange, blue, and green. The device is compatible with both iPhone and Android platforms, and also brings the RE Live Stream feature, which lets you stream up to 30-minutes of footage directly from the device to YouTube. It’s nearing impulse buy at this price.

Best Buy offering HTC’s RE camera accessory for $100 (Reg. $200)

Best Buy is offering HTC’s RE camera accessory for $99.99, down from its normal list price of $200. The $99.99 price point is the lowest we’ve seen since during a Black Friday deal when supply was very constrained. For those unfamiliar, the RE camera is a GoPro-like device that records point of view video, but does not have any sort of viewfinder.

HTC RE camera will be $100 on Black Friday through Cyber Monday

Site default logo image

The HTC RE is one of the weirdest looking cameras that we’ve seen released this year. At a glance it looks like a tiny periscope or a colorful asthma inhaler. Odd presentation aside, this GoPro alternative has some likable qualities, however its $200 asking price is likely to be a turnoff for frugal photogs. If that last line sounds like you, then you might want to listen up, because HTC is having a sale.

AT&T to start selling the HTC Desire EYE and RE camera on November 7th

Site default logo image

Last month, AT&T confirmed that it was going to exclusively carry the selfie-focused HTC Desire EYE and today the carrier announced that it will start selling the device on November 7th for $150 under a two year service agreement. Ma Bell is also pushing HTC’s new smartphone through its Next program for $22.92 per month (20 months) or $27.50 per month (24 months). However, if all of the aforementioned purchase options sound too complicated, you can just buy the handset with no strings attached for $550.
