Expand Expanding CloseFor quite some time, the Waze Carpool app has given commuters the ability to open up their vehicles to riders to save on gas, make a few bucks, and take some cars off the road too. This week, a calendar is being added to Waze Carpool to help drivers schedule their rides through the week to save time on scheduling.
Alphabet has multiple on-going ride-sharing efforts from Waymo and self-driving vehicles to Waze Carpool. Housed within Google, the latter is expanding its take on ride-sharing across the U.S. today, while the Alphabet company hit a major milestone.
Waze released a new service in select regions last year called Waze Carpool. With it, drivers could offer rides to others who wished to carpool to a shared or nearby destination. Thanks to a new partnership with Payoneer, drivers can accept money from riders directly within the Waze Carpool application.
Following trials earlier this year in the San Francisco Bay Area, Waze’s ride-sharing service is expanding to all of California. Carpool is notable for its various restrictions that make it different from Uber or Lyft, but more affordable.
10 months after launching the service in Israel, Google-owned mapping service Waze is expanding its carpooling service to San Francisco to help solve the city’s traffic problems. The service, which is called RideWith in Israel, is simply called Waze Carpool here in the United States and is open to a select number of employers and their commuters in San Fransisco.
