Much like it has in recent years by offering employees their choice from a selection of devices as a Christmas/holiday gift, we’ve learned from several sources that this year Google will continue the tradition. Rather than the choice of Chromebook, a Motorola phone or the Nexus 7 tablet like it offered last year, this year the company will offer an option between the Nexus 5 and new Nexus 7.

Backing up our info is the screenshot below showing a family member of a Google employee mentioning the gift:

Last year Google didn’t offer its Nexus 4 as an option for the employee gifts, but it was also experiencing some supply issues with the device at the time. The year before last Google provided employees with a customized Galaxy Nexus, but there’s no word on whether or not the Nexus 5 and 7 on offer this year will differ from the retail version in anyway.

  1. Google, very much appreciated

  2. Apple giving $10 in app purchases to their staff? Ha ha right, too much, were talking about one of the greediest corporations to date. Staff would be lucky if they got a case for their phone or ipad.
