Sony has yet to officially announce an Xperia Z3 smartphone, however that hasn’t stopped the leaks from coming. Expected to debut next week during IFA, alleged teardown pictures of the device have surfaced, giving a closer look at what we might be seeing in a few short days. Rumor has it that Sony’s next premium smartphone will feature a 5.3-inch 1080p HD display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera.

If these photos are the real deal, the Z3 appears to be sporting a 3,100mAh battery, which would be a slightly smaller cell compared to the 3,200mAh juice box that ships with its predecessor. Speaking of the Z2, this successor almost looks like a carbon copy of Sony’s last effort, so we can’t help but wonder what the company has added in just a few short months to warrant an immediate follow up. Hopefully all will be revealed at IFA, but in the meantime, check out the partial teardown gallery below.
