Sprint announces new prepaid tiered data plans starting at $35 per month

After giving its postpaid service plans an overhaul, Sprint is making some changes to its off-contract options as well. Today, the American wireless carrier announced a trio of new prepaid options for customers who’d rather not sign on the dotted line. Similar to what the company offers to its Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile subscribers, Sprint’s new plans feature an all you can eat talk and text setup, with a tiered data structure.

For $35 a month, you’ll score 1GB of data per billing cycle. If that’s not enough, you can spend $10 more for 3GB of data, or $55 a month for 6GB of data. Not bad, considering that Sprint used to charge $60 a month for “unlimited data,” with only 2.5GB of it running at full speed. If you don’t mind a limited device selection and you’re looking to to drop your current on-contract service plan, Sprint’s new prepaid offerings might be worth a look.
