BlackBerry’s ‘Mercury’ Android phone rumored to pack the same camera sensor as the Pixel [Update]

Following its switch to Android, BlackBerry has released some solid devices, but nothing impressive. We have high hopes for the upcoming “Mercury,” which we saw at CES 2017 earlier this month, but it’s definitely going to have an uphill battle. Now, rumor has it the “Mercury” will bring the same camera sensor that is packed inside of Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

Earlier this month at CES 2017, we got to go hands-on with the latest Blackberry handset codenamed “Mercury.” Even though we were able to take a look at the phone, we weren’t given any specific details about the device — including its official name. In a Tweet, Blackberry has confirmed that the “Mercury” will be announced on February 25th at Mobile World Congress…

BlackBerry seemingly teases its new ‘Mercury’ handset ahead of CES 2017 unveiling

Three months ago Blackberry announced that it would be no longer making their own hardware. This meant that TCL Communications would be producing future Blackberry handsets. A month later, the company’s CEO went on the record to state that they had one more device coming out “soon” that would feature a keyboard.

Images of this upcoming device codenamed “Mercury” leaked several weeks ago and now Blackberry is teasing us with a 4-second video of the phone ahead of its announcement at CES 2017…
