Huawei is still in a tricky spot when it comes to launching new devices, but that hasn’t stopped the company from supporting what’s already on the market. This morning, Huawei is announcing its official update schedule for EMUI 10 and it starts rolling out this month.
At IFA 2019, Huawei confirmed the road map for the EMUI 10 update in a session on the new OTA. It appears that the company has plans to seed the OTA to over 30 devices by Q2 2020.
Huawei’s brand new EMUI 10 update is one of the first waves of Android Q re-skins and even with the release of HarmonyOS, is being backed by the Chinese OEM despite on-going US tensions.
Just because Huawei officially has another operating system, the company isn’t giving up on Android. At its developer conference today, Huawei announced EMUI 10 for its smartphones that will arrive with Android Q starting as soon as next month.
Ahead of the Huawei Developer Conference 2019, the big news has been the numerous rumors of the release of Huawei’s internally developed HongMeng OS. While we are unsure how grounded those rumors are, we do know for certain that EMUI 10 is set to be formally unveiled at the developer event in China on August 9.
While the EMUI 9.1 rollout is still in full swing, it appears that Huawei is set to launch EMUI 10 as early as next month.
Huawei has already confirmed that Android Q will be heading to a handful of its smartphones, but that future is increasingly unclear for the time being. Today, though, an early build of EMUI 10 has leaked based on Android Q, showing what Huawei has in the works.
