Google Flights now shows Southwest fares, no more ‘price unavailable’

Previously, Google Flights would show available Southwest flights, but not the actual price. This has officially changed today.

Google Search’s Rajen Patel posted about the change this morning. Instead of “Price unavailable” or “View site for price,” you’ll now see how much a Southwest flight actually costs alongside all other airlines. This is such an improvement when comparison shopping.

Historically, Southwest made you use their website or app — which are both fine, but not particularly great and somewhat clunky on Android — to see the actual fare. 

You’re able to select your departing and returning flight, with access to “Booking options.” This shows the price for Wanna Get Away, Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, and Business Select, complete with a summary of what each tier offers. Google Flights, however, does not show “Only x left!” countdown.

When you press “Continue,” you’re taken to the Trip & Price Details page of southwest.com to confirm and quickly checkout, just like other airlines.
