Motorola giving away 20 Moto 360 smartwatches via Yo contest

Motorola is expected to finally unveil its circular Moto 360 smartwatch at a press event on September 4th. We already know a lot about the device, but two key details that are missing are the price and release date. This afternoon, however, the company announced that it is giving 20 people an early chance at winning a Moto 360.

The details of the contest are where it gets a bit weird, but it’s still incredibly simple. All you have to do is download the Yo app for either iOS or Android and add “MOTOROLA” to your contacts within the app. Once you have done that, simply send a “yo” to Motorola to be entered into the contest.

For those unfamiliar, Yo is a very basic “social network” that allows you to send only a single word (you guessed it, “yo”) to your contacts. The app spread like wildfire over the past few months, and now it looks like brands are starting to get in on the fun.

The contest to win one of 20 Moto 360 smartwatches runs until tomorrow, August 28th, at 3:01 PM Central Time. It’s also worth noting that, once again, Motorola listed the MSRP of the Moto 360 at $250, corroborating the leaked Best Buy slides from earlier this month.
