Adobe has today released a new Photoshop app for Android called Photoshop Mix, a new attempt at bringing the company’s photo editing software to mobile. While Photoshop Express has been around for a while, it’s not exactly the most powerful photo editing tool on the Play Store. Adobe announced today that it plans to discontinue its Photoshop Touch software for Android as it changes its approach to bringing features from its professional desktop application to mobile platforms. Rather than continuing to develop an all-in-one app that tries to recreate the Photoshop desktop experience on smartphones and tablets, Adobe is fully embracing its recent strategy of releasing multiple apps that each perform specific functions well. Along with a number of announcements landing today during Adobe’s MAX conference, the company has quietly released an Adobe Creative Cloud app for Android in preview mode. The app, which works with the free 2GB Creative Cloud membership in addition to paid subscriptions, allows users to manage their Creative Cloud accounts by browsing and previewing files stored in the cloud service.
