For the past 4.5 years, I’ve reached for the same case everyday to use my Pixel Buds. Handling the same shape so frequently means I rarely have to think about how to use it, especially one-handed. Figuring out which side is the front without looking to lift the lid is second nature as is moving to a bud as I put down the case on a surface and extract.  

Google’s last Pixel hardware launch is here, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 replace the original Pixel Buds Pro after they hit the market back in 2022. Are they worth upgrading to? Here’s everything you need to know.

At launch, the only spoken notifications available on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are from messaging apps, but Google is planning to upgrade the alert experience with Gemini.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 feature a few key improvements over the original Pixel Buds Pro. Two years after that release, Google is trying to incorporate better sound, Gemini interaction, and better battery life into a design that takes on a few physical changes.

A new rumor today says that the bulk of the Pixel 9 series will launch just over a week after the announcement, but everything else looks to be further out.

In addition to colors, we now have our first design leak of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and it shows a new, updated look. Overall, Google is sticking with the same buds form factor rather than pursuing a stem. 

Our March report that the Pixel Watch 3 would come in 41 and 45 mm sizes also revealed that Google is working on new headphones. Possible colors for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 have now leaked.

Back in January, we shared that Google is working on two sizes for its next Wear OS device. 9to5Google can now report that a 45mm Pixel Watch 3 is coming, while new Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also in development.
