Moto 360

See All Stories

When it first launched in 2014, we called the Moto 360 the “best Android Wear smartwatch currently available.” And yes, there weren’t many available at the time. But that doesn’t make this title any less significant. The Moto 360 was definitely the sexiest of the first generation of Android Wear devices, and was the first to feature a round display, which is notably an LCD — unlike most other Android Wear offerings.

Being a first generation product, the Moto 360 definitely has its bugs and kinks. The device has what many have called the “flat tire,” a section at the bottom of the screen that basically serves as its bezel. As we said in our review, though, there are only a few categories that really matter: Design/build quality, functionality, and battery life. And the Moto 360 is pretty much up to par in all three (except that darn flat tire. grr.).

PSA: All Moto 360 owners should have Android Wear 5.0.1 before end of day

Last week Google started pushing the latest build of Android Wear, version 5.0.1, to a wide variety of devices. Of those that started to see the update on the 10th of December was Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch, but the rollout of the update has been slow and incremental. According to the rollout schedule, only 5% of devices received the update on the day it was first released.

Looking at that same post on the Motorola forum, however, we know that all 100% of Moto 360 devices should have received the update by the end of the day today, December 15th. So if you’re still waiting on the update (build LWX48P) to hit your watch, keep hitting reloading that update page. Sadly, Motorola says that users don’t have any way of manually updating their devices outside the release schedule.

Motorola releases two more Moto 360 ads entitled “Holiday” and “Golf”

Earlier this week, Motorola unveiled a pair of new ads for its Moto 360 featuring burittos, a pianist, and a dude named Chad. The ads mocked the luxury watch industry and its traditional commercial format. Today, Motorola continued its Moto 360 advertising with two more new videos. One is titled “Golf,” and the other “Holiday.”

Motorola today revealed a pair of new commercials for its Moto 360. The first commercial, entitled “Businessman” starts out with close-up shots of the Moto 360, highlighting the device’s “craftsmanship” and “style.”  It then, however, cuts to a notification for a takeout order of burritos being on its way from Eat24.

Moto 360 now available from O2 for £199.99, ships next day

UK Carrier O2 is officially offering the Moto 360 smartwatch via its website for £199.99. Currently, the device is listed as shipping next day, but as anyone who has followed the Moto 360 release knows, the device has been hard to come upon, repeatedly going in and out of stock in the United States. We wouldn’t recommend wasting too much time on pulling the trigger, O2 customers.

O2 appears to only be offering the Moto 360 in black, but we’ve already told you how to get a steel band for device on the cheap. In our review of the Moto 360, we praised the device’s design and even its battery life. We called it the “best smartwatch you can currently buy,” as well.

O2 customers can order the device on the carrier’s website right here.

Moto 360 owners are reportedly receiving improved battery life after last week’s software update

Site default logo image

The Moto 360 is one of the most attractive Android Wear devices on the market, however owners of Motorola’s new smartwatch have had mixed feelings about its battery life. Last week the company pushed out a new software update that focused on Bluetooth connectivity and bug fixes, with the latter possibly improving the device’s power management.

How to get a steel band for the Moto 360 on the cheap (Video)

When the Moto 360 was released, it was very disappointing to find out that the steel band version would be launching at a later date. Unfortunately, we’re still without this mysterious steel version. Motorola has hyped the steel band version since the Moto 360’s announcement, but until its officially released your only option is to buy one that comes with a leather strap.

The gray and black Horween leather straps that come along with the Moto 360 are pretty good, but for myself, nothing is better than a nice steel band. The problem is, Motorola has somewhat of a proprietary design with the straps that ship with the Moto 360 and if you want to pickup an official steel band when it’s released, be ready to pay $79.99. Luckily, there’s one steel strap in the wild that just happens to fit it perfectly…

Moto 360 review: The best Android Wear smartwatch currently available

What can I say about the Moto 360 that hasn’t already been said about every other Android Wear smartwatch on the market? Luckily, there’s quite a bit. First off, if you’re not familiar with Android Wear, this brief review may not make a lot of sense to you, so I’d recommend reading our Android Wear review to get caught up on things.

The Moto 360 is the smartwatch we’ve all been waiting for this year. I wear this thing everywhere. I suppose Android Wear’s functionality has a lot to do with my love for it, but the Moto 360 packs charm all on its own. Enough with the small talk, let’s get into the review…
