Known for its tagline “Never Settle,” OnePlus makes smartphones that rival other flagship handsets with more budget-friendly price tags.

Following the 3’s launch, OnePlus says it won’t make OnePlus X-like mid-range smartphones anymore

Amidst the myriad of (relatively) new Chinese smartphone manufacturers, OnePlus certainly has made itself distinctive. Be it for past questionable marketing campaigns, now-fortunately-gone, infamous invite systems or, all in all, good products, the company can claim to have a special flair to it.

However, to keep that “uniqueness trend” going, the company is seemingly ditching any further plans that saw it working on sequels to its mid-range OnePlus X

Paranoid Android is back with new ‘all new features’, ‘new team members’ and more

Following the acquisition by OnePlus back in February 2015, most of the team working on the Paranoid Android ROM fled to the Chinese company’s shore to work on the Oxygen OS, which eventually made its way to the OnePlus 2 and its sibling smartphones.

There was no indication that the team would make a comeback, but as per a post released today, it looks like death previsions were everything but right…

OnePlus designed a smartwatch, but they decided not to release it

We’ve seen dozens of smartwatches hit the market over the past couple years, but none of them have yet to be a real runaway hit. Just about every major OEM has one on the market, so with all of those options out there, it’s tough for smaller companies to get their chance in the game — or at least, that’s what OnePlus thinks.

According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the company not only was considering a smartwatch, they also had a completed design. But as we know, they decided not to release it (via WSJ).

OnePlus will let you buy the 3 almost ten days early, but you won’t be able to see it

Where most of Samsung’s craziness comes from its technologies — be it prototypes, advertising or actual devicesOnePlus is mostly renowned for its controversy. Things such as “Smash The Past” as well as the (now fortunately gone) invite system made their way to the headlines more than once, and the company may be on the verge of repeating itself again…

The OnePlus 3 will be fully unveiled on June 15 (at least in China)

There’s very little we don’t know about the OnePlus 3. The Chinese company’s flagship’s marketing campaign has been boiling up for some time now, and between that and an array of leaked specs it’s only the official launch date we didn’t know.

According to a post submitted by OnePlus on Weibo, it looks like the wait won’t be long, with a June 15 date slated for its final unveiling…

OnePlus is accepting applications to test drive the forthcoming OnePlus 3 flagship with its “Lab” initiative

OnePlus is indeed a company that likes to stick out and do things a little differently. This can cause controversy at times, but either way the firm has done a good job — especially among the myriad of relatively new Chinese OEMs — letting its name be known.

Today, the company has announced that the upcoming OnePlus 3 flagship will be part of an exclusive “Peer Review” program, to which everyone is invited…

OnePlus 3 TENAA listing all but confirms design and specifications

With the OnePlus 3 rumored to be making its first public appearance on June 14th, it’s about the right time for the next “flagship killer” to appear in a listing on China’s TENAA site. Similar to the FCC in the US, all phones launching in China tend to land on TENAA a few weeks before they launch. OnePlus is no exception, and was spotted by Engadget China, with pictures from every angle and a list of specifications.

OnePlus announces Loop VR headset, says OnePlus 3 will be “the world’s first global shopping experience in VR”

UPDATE: It happened really fast, but the 30,000 Loop VR headsets are already gone. However, as per Carl Pei, some of the orders placed didn’t go through fully, and pending, missed payments will result in cancelled orders.

If there is a big trend going on now in mobile, that’s virtual reality. Last week at Google I/O, we saw the Mountain View company announcing its new VR-dedicated platform, Daydream, which will be compatible with Android N and a lot of the devices that will come throughout the rest of 2016 and beyond.

One of those phones will likely be the OnePlus 3, which the company’s co-founder Carl Pei today announced will repeat its virtual reality launch with, and will do so with its own newly revealed Loop VR headset…

Quality OnePlus 3 press render leak seemingly confirms full-metal design, AMOLED display

A fresh press render has leaked this morning courtesy of the fount-of-all-leaks, Evan Blass, showing the OnePlus 3 in a much more flattering light than the recent prototype leaks. The image seemingly confirms OnePlus’ move away from the replaceable plastic rear panels, with the company intent on releasing a metal-bodied device.

OnePlus 3 prototype shows up in fresh leaked photos, corroborate previous images

Just days after the first batch of OnePlus 3 leaks surfaced, more have appeared on Chinese social networking site, Weibo. This time, the device is shown completely case-less, with the boot-up screen clearly showing the OnePlus logo.

At this point it seems safe to assume that the third-generation device from OnePlus will indeed be this OnePlus 2/HTC One crossover.

Sketchy OnePlus 3 prototype leak shows HTC-like metal design, familiar front-mounted fingerprint sensor

A collection of photos has landed on Chinese social networking platform, Weibo, showing what is claimed to be the next generation OnePlus flagship phone. While the front looks familiar, and almost identical to the OnePlus 2’s facade, the rear looks far more like something HTC or Huawei would build.
