Adobe Photoshop officially comes to the web today w/ public beta, works on Chromebooks
Chromebooks rely primarily on web apps to run just about everything, with Android apps plugging some of the holes, but even that left Chromebook owners without access to the Adobe Creative suite. The tide is finally changing, though, as Adobe today announced that Photoshop is coming to the web and in turn, Chromebooks starting with a public beta.

Adobe Lightroom for Android updated to 1.2 with interface overhaul, faster, more intuitive edit tools, more
Today, Adobe released the latest version of its mobile Lightroom app for Android. Version 1.2 comes loaded with a handful of new features and a number of bug fixes and performance improvements. It’s available to download right now, and is the latest in a long run of awesome, recently updated Creative Cloud apps for mobile.

Adobe releases Photoshop Mix and a few Creative Cloud apps for Android
Adobe has today released a new Photoshop app for Android called Photoshop Mix, a new attempt at bringing the company’s photo editing software to mobile. While Photoshop Express has been around for a while, it’s not exactly the most powerful photo editing tool on the Play Store. Adobe Photoshop Mix, in light of Photoshop Touch’s removal from the store, is an attempt at filling the gap for those that are looking for something a little more robust.

Adobe discontinues Photoshop Touch for Android, announces Project Rigel retouching system
Adobe announced today that it plans to discontinue its Photoshop Touch software for Android as it changes its approach to bringing features from its professional desktop application to mobile platforms. Rather than continuing to develop an all-in-one app that tries to recreate the Photoshop desktop experience on smartphones and tablets, Adobe is fully embracing its recent strategy of releasing multiple apps that each perform specific functions well. Adobe releases Creative Cloud app for Android in preview mode
Along with a number of announcements landing today during Adobe’s MAX conference, the company has quietly released an Adobe Creative Cloud app for Android in preview mode. The app, which works with the free 2GB Creative Cloud membership in addition to paid subscriptions, allows users to manage their Creative Cloud accounts by browsing and previewing files stored in the cloud service. The app was previously available for iOS users and sports a similar design.

Adobe updates Photoshop Express for Android with blemish removal tool, RAW importing, more
Adobe has actively been rolling out new and powerful tools for mobile platforms in recent months including Lightroom Mobile for iPad followed later by Lightroom Mobile for iPhone and Photoshop Mix as well as Adobe Voice for creating storytelling from iPad. Adobe says Lightroom for Android will follow eventually.
Even with all of those new products, Adobe is continuing to add features to its existing mobile apps with the release of Adobe Photoshop Express 2.3.273 today. The updated version of Photoshop Express for Android specifically brings four new features: a new blemish removal tool, the ability to increase or decrease filter strength, a new defog tool to remove haziness, and the ability to import photos in the RAW format.
As always, the Android version of Adobe Photoshop Express is available as a free download from the Play Store, and the update is out now.
Google+ Photos introduces ability to adjust previous edits, new Auto Awesome Effects feature
New Google employee John Nack took to Google+ this morning to announce a handful of new features coming to the photos area of Google’s social network. Nack was a former Adobe team member, Photoshop evangelist, and blogger prior to joining Google back in February. In his post, Nack announced that Google+ on the web now supports the ability to edit your previous edits and has received some new Auto-Awesome features.
Adobe launches Photoshop Touch app for Amazon Kindle Fire devices
Adobe just announced on its Photoshop blog that it is making the Photoshop Touch app available to Kindle Fire devices starting today for $9.99 in the Amazon Appstore. Adobe previously had version of the app available for other Android devices on Google Play, as well as an iOS version of the scaled down Photoshop app for Apple’s devices. The new app for Kindle Fire will be available on the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD, and the 7-inch Kindle Fire, and Kindle Fire HD models. The app is only compatible with devices running Android 4.0 and up, so it’s not available to first-gen Kindle Fire users.
