DIRT 5 is now available on Google Stadia [Updated]

Update 3/24: DIRT 5 hit other platforms and consoles in early November of last year, but today the game is making its formal debut on Google Stadia. Available right now for $59.99, Stadia players are at a bit of a disadvantage, as the game was recently on sale for 50% of that price pretty much everywhere else, though Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox have all since reverted to $59.99. Hopefully, a new sale will extend to Stadia at some point.

Sony invites press to Oct. 9 event in NYC for possible US Xperia Z3 announcements

Sony has just sent out invites to press for an event coming up in NYC that could possibly see the company carry out the US launch of its latest Xperia Z3 lineup. The company already took the wraps off the new devices at IFA early this month, but it’s possible we’ll get a US-based event to officially unveil the devices here and announce available stateside.

We went hands-on with the new flagship Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone earlier this month on the IFA show floor in Berlin. The new device features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 3,100mAh battery.

The Xperia Z3 unveiling arrived alongside announcements for the Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia E3 and Xperia Z3 tablet also announced earlier this month at IFA.

An early version of Ubisoft’s Gods & Monsters was briefly playable on Stadia

Google today brought mobile Stadia play to all Android phones and introduced touch controls, as well as per-device resolution controls. Lost in that fray of news was the brief appearance of a title called “Orpheus” in the Stadia Store. Those that accessed the game before it got pulled quickly realized that they were playing an early version of Ubisoft’s Gods & Monsters on Stadia.

[Update: 11:30AM PT] Stadia’s Phil Harrison E3 interview is today [Livestream]

With Stadia Connect yesterday, Google preempted Microsoft and Nintendo’s E3 news with its own livestream about pricing and launch titles. Google is not expected to have a presence at the games conference next week, but Stadia head Phil Harrison will be interviewed on Sunday and is taking questions.
