Gboard in recent weeks began rolling out a built-in Clipboard, while the iOS client received advanced theming options. The latest beta rolled out yesterday, with Gboard 8.2 revealing work on Federated Learning and Personalization.
Earlier this month, Google rolled out on-device, real-time speech transcription in Gboard for Pixel phones. Gboard 8.1 entered beta this afternoon with a new look for the growing menu of shortcuts and the ability to delete old searches.
Gboard for Android and iOS maintain relative feature parity on key functionality, but on occasion one app surpasses the other. Gboard 2.0 for iOS today adds a slew of customization options for the keyboard ranging from backgrounds, keys, and even the glide swipe trail.

While the Taptic Engine has been a staple of flagship iPhones since 2016, most iOS keyboards — including the system default — do not support haptic feedback. Google today updated Gboard with support for haptics on every key press.

Gboard 7.8 rolled out last night in beta with a handful of new voice typing features and changes.
