A leak published on the HellomotoHK Facebook page appears to show four unreleased Motorola phones, or at least the rear covers from four Moto devices. From left to right we allegedly have the upcoming Motorola Droid mini, Moto G, Moto Droid and Moto X. If you’re excited to see Motorola‘s wares for 2015 then these are the Droids you’re probably looking for. Sorry, couldn’t resist (not sorry at all).
According to a tweet early this morning from evleaks, Motorola seemingly might be planning to bring the company’s upcoming 2015 Moto G handset to the famed Moto Maker phone customization tool. Expand Expanding Close
Steve Hemmerstoffer, otherwise known as the infamous @OnLeaks on Twitter, has posted some new images online (translated URL) that purportedly show an updated 2015 Moto G, the budget smartphone from Motorola that comes in just above the really-budget Moto E. Hemmerstoffer is well known for having leaked accurate renders of the LG G4 months before it was unveiled by the company, and has as of late posted renders of new Samsung Note and Galaxy Tab S iterations.
If a recent — slightly sketchy — report is anything to go by, Motorola could be set to announce new versions of its popular stock Android phones. A new Moto X “Sport” and a new Moto G have shown up in leaks which come from Chilean operator, Entel. Expand Expanding Close
The Moto G is set to get a refresh sometime over the next couple of months, likely alongside the company’s flagship Moto X. We first saw some leaked shots of this Moto G (2015) a couple of weeks ago, but that was a sketchy (and blurry) barely-lit picture taken with a potato. Now, we have our first look (via TechnoBuffalo) at what look to be PR renders of the refreshed budget handset…
The Motorola update train continues rolling on. Today, we’ve got more information on updates to two of the company’s 1st-generation budget phones, the Moto E and Moto G.
The 3rd generation Moto G (2015) is likely to be just around the corner, along with the much-rumored 3rd generation Moto X (2015). And while we got what is probably a nice peek at the upcoming Moto X thanks to Upleaks last weekend, this weekend a couple of other sources are sharing some information about the lower-end budget phone from the Lenovo-owned company. Sadly, at least based on this information, the Moto G (2015) seems to be a bit of a snooze fest… Expand Expanding Close
Moto G (1st gen) users, your time has come – to update to Android Lollipop, that is. And we’re talking about 5.0.2 here, but that’s better than nothing, right? The release notes went up on Motorola’s website today and many individuals in the /r/MotoG subreddit have been reporting over the past few hours that they’re starting to receive the update.
Some might remember that it was as far back as February when Motorola promised the update was coming for first-gen users “really soon.” Better late than never. Let us know if you spot the update yourself.
Google and Motorola this evening have started rolling out Android 5.1 to the Play Edition Moto G. The update carries the build number LMY47M and comes in at 171 MB. The update is rolling out now over-the-air, although as usual, it’s a staged rollout and could take a few days to hit your device (via Android Police).
According to “solid sources” for Artem Russakovskii, the long-awaited Android 5.1 update (which has been rolling out to Android One devices for about a month now), should be coming to an Android device near you sometime before the end of the week. Considering Russakovskii’s track record, it’s probably fairly likely that we’ll see the update start rolling out soon barring any unforeseen circumstances…
The second generation Moto E was spotted earlier this month on the Best Buy website, but now we have what looks to be a render of the device all stamped up and ready to ship on Verizon (via Android Police). And to the delight of many, it looks like the device is going to pack 4G LTE, a feature that isn’t common in phones in the price range this one will likely fall into.
Motorola, which said last month it would update all of its devices to Lollipop “really soon,” appears to have started taking initial steps to upgrade the first-generation Moto G. Users of the device are reporting that they have received a pop-up message on their device regarding a future update (via MobileSyrup).
Lenovo this evening has reported its calendar Q4 2014 earnings, and as is well-known, Motorola is now a part of the company, so the earnings are bit more interesting this time around. According to the earnings release, Motorola Mobility sold 10 million smartphones last quarter, which is up 118 percent compared to the year ago quarter.

Motorola this morning has taken to Google+ to say that Android 5.0 Lollipop is rolling out to the Moto G in the United States and India. Specifically, the update is today hitting the 2nd generation Moto G in the states and both 1st and 2nd generation devices in India.
#Lollipop is rolling out in phases to #MotoG (2nd Gen) in US & #MotoG (1st & 2nd Gen) in India. Look for the notification on your device to update!
This official announcement comes a couple months after Motorola began soak testing the update for the 2nd generation Moto G, and about a month after the update started rolling out to the Google Play Edition of the device.

According to the Moto G page on the Brazilian Motorola website, there appears to be another model of the company’s affordable Moto X alternative in the works, sporting LTE and a variety of other minor changes (via Android Police). It was only a matter of time before this device popped up consider its predecessor had 4G capable model, and now it’s (almost) here.
The Google Play Edition of the Moto G smartphone is finally starting to get its Android Lollipop update. The new operating system is rolling out as an over-the-air update for the device, but users who aren’t seeing it as available yet can grab the update directly from Google.

The new Moto G, for those unfamiliar, features a 5-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, Android 4.4, front-facing speakers, and a 2,070mAh battery.
The device is available in either white or black for $179.

Amidst today’s plethora of exciting announcements from Motorola—including the Moto 360, Moto Hint, new Moto X, and Moto G—there’s still at least one more new product that the company didn’t really bring to the limelight. As can be found on the company’s website, Motorola is launching a new charger soon (via Android Police), and it claims to give today’s announced smartphones 8 hours of battery on a 15 minute charge.
Motorola has just announced the newest additions to its smartphone lineup: the second-generation models of the Moto X and Moto G, and a Bluetooth headset called Hint.
First up is the new Moto X. It looks a lot like the previous model, but don’t be fooled: it’s got an entirely new spec list and even some tweaks to the design. The display is now 1080p versus the first-gen’s 720p version, and has gotten a slight size bump up to 5.2 inches. The edge of the phone is also now wrapped with aluminum rather than plastic. The camera has been bumped to 13 megapixels and now shoots 4k video (compared to a 10 MP still shooter with 1080p video support on the last model).
The Moto Maker online tool for customizing your phone has also been updated with new options, including custom colors for the volume rocker and power button. New back plate options include the previous wood design, as well as a line of all-new real leather options.
