Samsung may soon announce a global Galaxy Note 7 recall due to exploding batteries

Over the past few weeks, reports have come out regarding the Galaxy Note 7 with several users who have had their devices explode while charging. We still don’t officially know what the cause of this issue is (many, including us, have attributed it to accessories) but it seems that Samsung may have traced back to the root of the issue.

Witness the crushing power of optimization in this Galaxy Note 7 speed test comparison [Video]

We talked about the strengths of optimization more than once before, and showed you how tight integration of home-made hardware (and software) can go a long way towards making a device faster and smoother in its experience compared to sheer, raw power components boxed into a device. And today, unsurprisingly, is Samsung‘s case once again, this time with its recently announced Galaxy Note 7

It’s only been a couple of weeks since the Galaxy Note 7 released to glowing reviews, but reports are now claiming that the company is pressing pause on shipments of the device. Why? Samsung confirms upgraded Galaxy Note 7 variant w/ 6GB RAM & 128GB of storage, but it’s only coming to China

Samsung always goes all-out on specifications with its Note lineup, but with the Note 7 this wasn’t quite the case. It packs top of the line specifications for sure, but they are nearly identical to that of the Galaxy S7 from earlier this year. Many expected to see the phone launch with more storage, better features, and over everything else, more RAM.

Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders are apparently the highest ever for a Galaxy device, double that of the S7

According to analysts in Korea, people are going pretty nuts over the Galaxy Note 7.  After pre-orders opened up last week, reports compiled on August 9th revealed that the device had been preordered 200,000 times in just the first two days, just in South Korea. Considering that the device is set to release in other portions of Asia, Europe, and the US, it’s pretty safe to assume that that number is actually exponentially higher.

One of the strongest aspects of Samsung smartphones over the past couple of years has been the display.
