According to a new report out of Forbes, Google will announce both the Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone tomorrow. The report claims that Google had originally planned to hold an event for the devices, but decided it against it due to it wanting to continue to fine tweak Android “L” until the last-minute. Instead, both of the devices will be announced via a blog post.
Earlier this week, a user guide for the upcoming DROID Turbo was leaked for all to see. The guide revealed pretty much everything we needed to know about Motorola and Verizon’s latest flagship. Verizon and Sony announced today that it will soon begin offering the Sony Xperia Z3v smartphone on its network, as well as the Sony SmartWatch 3. The Xperia Z3v, which is the U.S. version of the Xperia Z3, features all of the specs you would expect a 2014 flagship device to have and will be available on October 23rd for $199.99.
iHeartRadio today announced that it plans to release an Android Wear app on October 15th. The company, which recently rebranded from Clear Channel to iHeartMedia, says that the app will support all current Android Wear devices.

Just as we expected it to, HTC has just announced the RE camera during its Double Exposure event in New York City. The RE camera is a GoPro-like camera that records point of view video, but does not have any sort of viewfinder, which HTC says makes it incredibly easy and simple to use.
On stage in New York City during its Double Exposure event, HTC has just unveiled the Desire Eye. Looking much like the leaked renders and press shots we saw earlier this week, the device features a 5.2-inch full HD display with BoomSound speakers.

After months of rumors and speculation, HTC is finally holding its Double Exposure press event today in New York City. Thankfully, for those of you not attending the event itself, the company will also be live streaming it for everyone to see on YouTube.
Google, in a post on the official Google Work blog today, announced several enhancements coming to enterprise Chromebook users. In addition to a slew of new features for places using Chromebooks for Work, Google also announced a new pricing scheme for enterprise users. For $50 per device per year, users can get access to all of Google’s Chromebook for Work features, although that only applies to customers in the United States and Canada.
Thanks to various leaks over the past few weeks, HTC’s Nexus 9 tablet has been all but confirmed. This morning, though, HTC’s president of North Asia Jack Tong reportedly told members of the press that the Nexus 9 is the company’s “commitment” to returning to the tablet market. This is significant because, despite all of the leaks, HTC has yet to formally acknowledge the existence of the tablet.

While HTC has its own event scheduled for tomorrow, Verizon this afternoon went ahead and announced a new mid-range HTC device that it will offer to customers. The HTC Desire 612 will be available on October 9th for free when purchased with a new two-year contract.
Motorola unveiled the 2014 Moto G last month, but since then, it has only been available via the company’s website. Today, however, retailer Best Buy began offering the device both online and in stores. As you’d expect, the price from Best Buy is identical to what you’d get from Motorola, coming in at $179.99.
The new Moto G, for those unfamiliar, features a 5-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, Android 4.4, front-facing speakers, and a 2,070mAh battery.
Samsung on Monday night issued a statement warning that its third-quarter earnings would be considerably weaker than it initially expected. The South Korean company stated that it expects a third quarter operating profit of 4.1 trillion won, or $3.8 billion, and sales of 47 trillion won. Both of these numbers are below Reuters’ forecasts of 5.6 trillion won in operating profit and 50.9 trillion in sales (via CNBC).
Since its inception, one of the biggest pitfalls of Google Voice has been its lack of MMS support. In an era of time when nearly everyone has a smartphone, not being able to share videos and pictures with counterparts was a huge feature gap. This evening, however, Google employee Alex Wiesen announced on Google+ that Voice now supports MMS on more than a 100 North American carriers.

A few weeks back, Sling announced that it was updating its Android phone app with ability to stream content to a Chromecast-enabled television. Noticeably missing at the time was an update to the company’s Android tablet app. This morning, however, Sling has started rolling out an update to Slingplayer for tablets with all the features its phone counterpart got last month.
HP this afternoon quietly took the warps off of its latest Android tablet. The HP 10 Plus is available today from both HP’s website and on Amazon for $279.99. The company has yet to issue an official press release for the tablet, but the listing on its website explains most of what potential buyers will need to know.
The 10.1-inch device features a 1920×1200 resolution and is packing an ARM Cortex A7 quad-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. The processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, as well. HP touts (which it shouldn’t) that the device gets 6 hours of battery life out of its 7700 mAh supply. The HP 10 Plus is running Android 4.4.2.
While the specs of the HP 10 Plus are nothing to get too excited about, the tablet offers another option for potential Android tablet customers.
The supposed HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet has been rumored relatively often over the last few months, with renders of the device leaking and the a supposed keyboard accessory for it passing through the NCC. Now, the alleged Nexus 9 itself has passed through FCC testing. The documents, first noticed by Blogofmobile, show the device as carrying the model number 0P82100, which matches what appeared in leaks earlier this year.
The documents show that the device will feature both BlueTooth and NFC connectivity. Although this specific FCC filing makes no specific mention of cellular connectivity, it is believed that the 0P82100 model of the Nexus 9 will be the WiFi-only variant, with a 4G model launching separately. Other alleged features of the device include an NVIDIA K1 processor, an aluminum design, 2GB of RAM, and front-facing speakers.
While the FCC certification of the device still leaves a lot of answers unknown, it does mean that we are nearing a launch of the Nexus 9. Perhaps we’ll even see it launch alongside the Nexus 6.
Samsung and Microsoft initially inked an Android patent licensing deal back in 2011, but since then, Samsung’s dominance in the smartphone has grown incredibly fast. The South Korean company, according to court documents that become public on Friday, is now saying that it no longer wants to pay the royalties to Microsoft.
