Verizon is bringing back its unlimited data plans. With the new Verizon Unlimited plan launching on Monday, customers can use as much 4G LTE data, send as many texts as they like and talk for as long as they please … for $80 per month. An equivalent uncapped family plan charges $45 per line for 4 people, or $180 monthly.

We’re less than a day away from Google’s October 4th event, and it has been Pixel leaks galore. Over the weekend we saw Canadian carrier Bell leak renders of the Pixel and Pixel XL in black and white followed by Carphone Warehouse leaking promotional material. Just this morning Samsung officially issued a worldwide recall of every Galaxy Note 7 on the market. Why? Due to an issue with the battery, some users were having their devices explode (mainly while charging). Samsung noted 35 cases of this issue, and that was more than enough to issue a full recall. Owners of unlocked devices will be able to get a replacement device directly from Samsung, however with carriers, things get slightly more complicated.
Over the past few years T-Mobile has done a lot to change the industry, and despite some missteps, the changes it has implemented have changed other carriers for the better. One of the best examples of this is unlimited 2G data. Instead of getting a set amount of data followed by overage fees, customers get a limited amount of high-speed data, followed by unlimited data at considerably slower 2G speeds.
Following its release last month, Lenovo has just pushed the first software update to the Moto Z DROID Edition. Updates have been a topic of controversy for the Moto Z, with Motorola confirming that the device would not be receiving monthly security updates as most Android devices currently do.
One of the biggest downsides of buying a carrier branded Android smartphone is bloatware. Regardless of the carrier, you’re going to find at least a handful of added applications on your device which, in most cases, you can’t delete.
