Nvidia’s collection of Android-powered hardware offers up a gaming experience you can’t get on any other Android device, but games are obviously the biggest part of making that successful. Until April 16th, Nvidia Shield users have a chance to pick up some sweet deals on various games for their Shield tablets, handhelds, or set-top boxes.
Nvidia’s GeForce Now platform is a great way to play high-quality games on affordable, less powerful hardware like the Nvidia Shield TV. Recently, Nvidia raised the stakes with the addition of new Pascal-powered GPUs running the show, allowing for better performance, and even multiplayer games.

One thing that the Google Assistant has that puts other voice assistants to shame is the fact that you can have a contextual conversation with it. With information from previous questions or commands, Assistant can make the conversation feel more natural, but it’s not perfect, especially on certain devices. Update 5/12: Android 6.0.1 is now rolling out to the original NVIDIA Shield Tablet with the same fixes, features, and support for the Vulkan API.
Following the NVIDIA Shield Android TV receiving its Marshmallow update, the Tablet K1 is getting a smaller update to Android 6.0.1 today. The OTA includes bug fixes, several software tweaks, Android security patches, and support for the Vulkan API in games.
Having rolled out Marshmallow to the original Shield Tablet, NVIDIA is now rolling out Android 6.0 to their Shield Android TV. Marshmallow adds a host of new visual refreshes and storage features. The company also added a number of hardware features and settings, game optimizations, and support for new developer APIs.

NVIDIA today has announced a pair of updates for two of its Shield devices. The company’s Shield Portable and Shield Android TV are both receiving updates today, the latter of which receiving the more significant changes.
The NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV may be one of the best set-top boxes to ever exist, and now you can buy it straight from the Google Store. The 4K Ultra HD-supporting, game controller-including, Android-powered box can now be purchased in both its standard and “Pro” forms for $199 and $299, respectively.
The standard model comes with 16 GB of flash storage, while the “Pro” packs a 500 GB hard drive. The device sports a Tegra X1 processor and 3GB of RAM, an HDMI port, Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, Micro USB, and a Micro SD card slot. We reviewed it earlier this year and had almost all good things to say.
