Sony revamps mid-range w/ Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, adds new fingerprint sensor, metal design

Sony is kicking off the year with revamps to its low and mid-range Xperia lineups. At CES 2018, the company is launching the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 that all share the same general metallic design and wide-angle selfie camera.

The reduced top and bottom bezels will do little to appease critics of Sony’s staid design, but other features like the new fingerprint sensor might serve as a hint of what’s to come from Sony.

Sony’s mid-range XA2 and XA2 Ultra leak w/ rear fingerprint sensors ahead of CES 2018

Sony’s smartphone design has been criticized for stagnating in recent years and that’s unlikely to change, at least on the low and mid-range. According to leaks of the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2, there are only some minor changes to these possibly CES-bound devices.

Here’s the list of Android Wear watches being updated to 8.0 Oreo

Following the launch of Android 8.1, Google also released Android Oreo for Android Wear after a brief beta program for the wearable platform. A mostly technical upgrade, there are a handful of convenient new features. On Friday, Google announced a list of smartwatches getting upgraded to Oreo, as well as which devices are now receiving the update.
