OnePlus is pushing out the first official Android Oreo build to the OnePlus 3 & 3T

When OnePlus announced its latest flagship this past week, it stated that Android Oreo wouldn’t be coming to the 5 or the 5T officially until 2018. While unfortunate, it seems as though owners of older OnePlus devices, the 3 and 3T, are receiving the first official build of Oreo starting today…

Is the OnePlus 5T enough of a change to warrant a mid-cycle upgrade? [Poll]

OnePlus officially took the wraps off of its second flagship smartphone of the year: the OnePlus 5T. While the company did introduce a larger 18:9 aspect ratio display and small improvements to the dual-camera setup, the internals and overall design didn’t change.

Do you think there are enough reasons for OnePlus to have released the 5T just five months after it started shipping the 5?

OnePlus 5T specs: Snapdragon 835, 6-inch 18:9 1080p display, 6/8GB of RAM

While this change doesn’t really increase the overall footprint of the handset over the 5, it did force the company to move the fingerprint sensor to the back of the device and stick to on-screen software navigation buttons. While not much of a spec bump over the OnePlus 5, the 5T does pack several changes to the dual-camera setup, allowing for better portrait and low-light photos…

OnePlus has just released the OnePlus 5T, the company’s second and refined flagship smartphone of 2017. Just as the overall design hasn’t changed much when compared to the 5, the 5T keeps the same screenshot functionality as its predecessor. Android 8.0 Oreo available for some OnePlus 3 owners, stable builds for 3, 3T, and 5 coming this month

OnePlus 3

OnePlus’ track record for software updates has been shaky, to say the least, with many owners of the OnePlus 2 and X still mourning the premature end of software updates for their devices. OnePlus previously announced that Android 8.0 Oreo would be coming to the OnePlus 3/3T by the end of the year, and it looks like that day is quickly approaching.

The built-in app locker in OxygenOS isn’t all that secure, OnePlus working on a fix

OxygenOS — the Android ROM that’s present on OnePlus phones — comes outfitted with a lot of exclusive features and customization options that you won’t find on stock Android. One of OxygenOS’s most useful additions is a built-in app locker, but as evidenced by a recent ‘hack’, this extra security measure isn’t as secure as it should be…
