This year, Google publicly focused on the serviceability of the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a. However, a Pixel 10 teardown reveals a new battery removal mechanism.

Following the other three phones in the series two months ago, repair parts — including the inner screen — for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold are now listed on iFixit.

iFixit has listed repair parts for the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL, with the year-over-year comparison revealing some interesting pricing changes.

In 2022, Samsung and iFixit partnered to offer genuine repair parts for Galaxy phones and tablets. That’s now coming to an end, with iFixit having harsh words for the manufacturer.

Samsung’s DIY repair program has been a significant improvement over the limited options customers had just prior to 2022. With a new update to the list of eligible devices, Samsung has added the Galaxy S23, Fold 5, Flip 5, and even one of its projectors to the DIY repair program.

In addition to the Diagnostic App and manuals that Google released earlier this month, Pixel 8 and 8 Pro repair parts are also available at iFixit.

Following the 7a and Tablet, iFixit is now selling genuine repair parts for the Pixel Fold, including the foldable screen, and offering detailed replacement guides.

Google’s partnership with iFixit continues on the Pixel Tablet with genuine parts available for purchase and repair guides on key components.

Launched in May, genuine repair parts for the Pixel 7a are now available at iFixit, along with step-by-step guides for key replacements.

One of the biggest downsides of foldable smartphones right now is durability and, more so, repairability. Google is breaking new ground with the Pixel Fold, though, with repair parts that will be available through iFixit.

Following the Pixel 6a in November, iFixit now sells genuine repair parts for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro as part of its continued partnership with Google.

In late June, Google’s partnership with iFixit to make available genuine components for the Pixel 2-6 went live. iFixit now sells repair parts for the Pixel 6a.

As the Right to Repair movement spurs change in the industry, Samsung is today announcing a new partnership with iFixit to make DIY repairs a bit easier for some of its Galaxy phones and tablets.

A lot of people had high hopes for the Motorola Razr, but those quickly fell apart when its durability was questioned and reviews were… not good. Today, iFixit has given the Motorola Razr a teardown and, unsurprisingly, they’ve come to the conclusion it’s extremely difficult to repair, even saying it’s “one of the most complex phones ever.”
