Lenovo
Under its Lenovo ownership, Motorola is a very different company than the one we all knew and loved a few years back. The company is now releasing more phone models than ever before, and while this is something I’ve previously been critical of, it does appear to be part of a bigger strategy that is helping the company’s sales figures.
Google officially brought it’s Tango AR program to the public late last year with the release of Lenovo’s Phab2 Pro. Now, less than a year since it hit shelves, Lenovo has revealed via its support website that the company has no plans to upgrade any of the Phab2 handsets to Android Nougat…
While Lenovo kicks out smartphones under the Motorola Moto branding here in the United States, the company produces phones under its own name throughout various parts of the world. The Lenovo K8 Note is the latest flagship that was just announced, and for a price of just a little more than $200 USD, it looks to be a pretty killer deal.
Ever since Lenovo first began selling smartphones in Indian markets in 2013, the company has layered the regular Android OS with a custom software skin called Vibe UI. However, after years of trying to refine and perfect this custom skin, Lenovo has made the decision to abandon it altogether in favor of stock Android.
Last summer, Lenovo took the stage at Tech World in San Fransisco and announced a new line of modular smartphones. These were, of course, the Moto Z line of handsets. Now a year later, we’re hearing more about the successor to the more powerful and also incredibly thin model, the Moto Z2 Force thanks to a fresh leak…
There aren’t many good tablets running Android these days, but one is certainly Lenovo’s unique Yoga Book. With a futuristic keyboard, useful stylus, and crazy design, it certainly turns heads. Today at Lenovo’s annual Tech World event, the company has announced two new color options for the tablet hybrid.
By far, the most common gripe about today’s smartphones is that they don’t last long enough. Consumers clamor for a bigger battery, even at the cost of added thickness, yet manufacturers continue to do the opposite, making phones thinner and offering the same or an even smaller capacity battery.
The new Moto Z2 Play is no exception; it sheds a millimeter from its already crazy-thin predecessor, and shrinks the battery by 15%. For years, the Play tag has symbolized great endurance, so on the surface this sounds like a mistake, but there’s still a lot to like about the Moto Z2 Play.
As previously leaked, Motorola is already planning an upgrade to the Moto G5 announced just this February. Referred to as a “special edition” in a new leak, the Moto G5S Plus features a dual-lens setup, larger display, and more premium materials.
Motorola has had a tight grip on the budget phone space for years. The original Moto G launched a trend of affordable smartphones that still offered solid features and performance, and that eventually expanded to the Moto E series.
The Moto E4 is the company’s latest affordable smartphone, coming in at less than half the cost of the Moto G5 Plus. Past versions of the Moto E have too closely trodden the line between cost and performance, but this time Motorola might have gotten it just right.
With the announcement of the Moto Z2 Play last week, Lenovo began showcasing its 2017 lineup. Two other devices are still expected: the Z2 Force and the Z2. Specs for the latter have leaked revealing the standard components for a 2017 flagship.
Battery life is something that’s on everyone’s minds, except for owners of the original Moto Z Play. With outstanding multi-day battery life, it’s a wonderful device for that reason alone. However, in its successor, Lenovo is cutting down on that feature, and it’s just confirmed the news on Twitter.
We’re likely just a few weeks away from the launch of the Moto Z2 family, and slowly but surely, we’re learning more about Lenovo/Moto’s next flagship. Today, Android Authority has picked up a new image of the device, showing us the front panel for the first time.
Just yesterday we got a bunch of new details on Motorola/Lenovo’s upcoming Moto X revival including specifications and confirmation on some of the design. Today, leaker Evan Blass has revealed that this upcoming device actually won’t be called the Moto X 2017, but rather, the “Moto X4.”
Motorola/Lenovo made an interesting move in 2016 by dropping the Moto X brand for the Moto Z, but as we’ve heard a few times now, there seems to be plans to bring back the X for 2017. Information on this new phone has been light, but today we’re getting new details and confirmation on some previous specs as well.
Battery life is something we simply never have enough of. Motorola, though, seemed to solve that problem last year with the Moto Z Play, which could easily get through multiple days on a single charge, thanks to a huge internal power pack. However, it’s looking like the Moto Z2 Play is unfortunately going to ditch the generous battery capacity…
Android tablets have not seen a significant update in ages, but Motorola is reportedly working on one that features a new “Productivity Mode.” However, it appears that the software takes a lot of inspiration from parent company Lenovo’s tablets.

Some of the best aspects of almost any Motorola device over the past few years have been fast updates and clean software. While the former of those is long gone, clean software is still very much present. Now, a sketchy report making its way through the Android blogosphere misleadingly suggests that Moto is ditching that for a heavy-handed custom software layer over Android.
That concern, which seems to be spreading quickly, is pretty much unfounded…

Lenovo is no stranger to Google’s Chrome OS and has, in fact, developed some pretty excellent options. Now, the company is back at it with its first big Chromebook release of 2017, the Lenovo Flex 11.

Last year’s Moto Z was a pretty solid phone, but I don’t think anyone can deny that the Moto Z Force was better. With improved battery life, the shatterproof display, and a more comfortable build, it was just no contest. Except for one thing. The Moto Z Force was an exclusive to Verizon. The Moto Z2 Force, though, may change that.

Following the first leaked image of the Moto Z2 Force earlier this week, new renders (via OnLeaks) showcase the device in all angles and note the surprising return of a headphone jack.

Last year’s Moto Z and Moto Z Force introduced something new from Motorola, and for the most part, they were pretty solid devices. Just this month, we first caught word of the potential branding of the phone’s successor, the Moto Z2, and now we’re getting our first potential look at the device.

Motorola’s Moto Z was a quiet favorite of ours last year, offering up something that was different from other phones on the market. Now, we’re heading towards Motorola’s next major release, apparently called the “Moto Z2,” because that’s original.

Amid several company-wide changes, Lenovo opted to not release a new Moto X last year. Rumors for that line have been rather sparse, but it now appears that there will be a 2017 model with more mid-range specifications thanks to a new leak.

WinFuture’s leakster Roland Quandt is out today with a previously-unseen look at the Moto G5 in a “Blue Sapphire” color. As you can see in the above image and the gallery below, the phone is identical to the G5 that was announced at MWC last month, with the exception of its new blue shade…
