Lenovo’s Smart Display is an Echo Show with Google Assistant, launching this summer for $199

Google Home has proven to be a massive hit, but aside from better speakers and smaller designs, the form factor for Assistant speakers has largely remained unchanged between various releases. Now though, Lenovo is switching things up with the “Smart Display,” a new Home-esque device with a touchscreen…

Moto X4 unboxing and hands-on: The enthusiast brand returns! [Video]

It’s been a while now, but a few years back, the Moto X was my favorite line of smartphones. I loved the close-to-stock software, and having the ability to choose whatever colors and materials my phone was made of; it really gave off the feeling of a phone tailor-made for you, and only you.

After a two-year hiatus, Motorola is finally refreshing its enthusiast brand with the Moto X4, that ditches my beloved Moto Maker but brings a clean and familiar software experience and a much more modern design.

Lenovo sold 3 million Moto Z phones in the past year amidst continued growth outside of China

Under its Lenovo ownership, Motorola is a very different company than the one we all knew and loved a few years back. The company is now releasing more phone models than ever before, and while this is something I’ve previously been critical of, it does appear to be part of a bigger strategy that is helping the company’s sales figures.

$200 Lenovo K8 Note launching with stock Android 7.1.1, dual cameras, 4000 mAh battery

While Lenovo kicks out smartphones under the Motorola Moto branding here in the United States, the company produces phones under its own name throughout various parts of the world. The Lenovo K8 Note is the latest flagship that was just announced, and for a price of just a little more than $200 USD, it looks to be a pretty killer deal.

Moto Z2 Force leak sheds light on specs, thinner design, dual-cameras, more

Last summer, Lenovo took the stage at Tech World in San Fransisco and announced a new line of modular smartphones. These were, of course, the Moto Z line of handsets. Now a year later, we’re hearing more about the successor to the more powerful and also incredibly thin model, the Moto Z2 Force thanks to a fresh leak…

Review: Moto Z2 Play is Lenovo’s lean, mean, long-lasting modular machine [Video]

By far, the most common gripe about today’s smartphones is that they don’t last long enough. Consumers clamor for a bigger battery, even at the cost of added thickness, yet manufacturers continue to do the opposite, making phones thinner and offering the same or an even smaller capacity battery.

The new Moto Z2 Play is no exception; it sheds a millimeter from its already crazy-thin predecessor, and shrinks the battery by 15%. For years, the Play tag has symbolized great endurance, so on the surface this sounds like a mistake, but there’s still a lot to like about the Moto Z2 Play.

Review: Moto E4 nails the basics for customers on a tight budget [Video]

Motorola has had a tight grip on the budget phone space for years. The original Moto G launched a trend of affordable smartphones that still offered solid features and performance, and that eventually expanded to the Moto E series.

The Moto E4 is the company’s latest affordable smartphone, coming in at less than half the cost of the Moto G5 Plus. Past versions of the Moto E have too closely trodden the line between cost and performance, but this time Motorola might have gotten it just right.

Moto X 2017 leak shows off dual-cameras, reveals massive 3800 mAh battery w/ Snapdragon 660

Motorola/Lenovo made an interesting move in 2016 by dropping the Moto X brand for the Moto Z, but as we’ve heard a few times now, there seems to be plans to bring back the X for 2017. Information on this new phone has been light, but today we’re getting new details and confirmation on some previous specs as well.

Moto Z2 Play reported to effectively ditch the best part of the Moto Z Play, its battery life

Battery life is something we simply never have enough of. Motorola, though, seemed to solve that problem last year with the Moto Z Play, which could easily get through multiple days on a single charge, thanks to a huge internal power pack. However, it’s looking like the Moto Z2 Play is unfortunately going to ditch the generous battery capacity…

No, Motorola is probably not switching to the ZUI skin for upcoming devices (in the US, at least)

Site default logo image

Some of the best aspects of almost any Motorola device over the past few years have been fast updates and clean software. While the former of those is long gone, clean software is still very much present. Now, a sketchy report making its way through the Android blogosphere misleadingly suggests that Moto is ditching that for a heavy-handed custom software layer over Android.

That concern, which seems to be spreading quickly, is pretty much unfounded…
