Now, a couple of weeks after launch OnePlus is rolling out an update that promises to improve the 7 Pro’s camera with better HDR, as well as including other welcome fixes.
We’ve had a substantial amount of time now with the OnePlus 7 Pro to formulate a review and gather our thoughts on the flagship killer-come-flagship.
The biggest selling point of the latest device from OnePlus is without a doubt its impressive 90Hz display. However, as users have gotten their hands on the OnePlus 7 Pro, some are reporting a “ghost touch” issue that causes random taps on parts of the display.
The OnePlus 7 Pro does genuinely offer a step up in the camera department but it appears that the claims of 3x telephoto zoom is not actually 100% true. Digging by /u/ImKuya over on Reddit (via Android Police) has found that the OnePlus 7 Pro telephoto camera only has a 2.2x optical zoom capability.

Back at Google I/O 2019, it was confirmed that the OnePlus 7 series would pick up support for the Android Q Beta program. Now, OnePlus has released the first Android Q beta version for both the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro.
OnePlus was one of the few holdouts when it came to the headphone jack last year, but the OnePlus 6T finally ditched it. Now, as the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro both still lack the legacy port, OnePlus is jacking up the price of its official headphone adapter, and not even giving one to users.

Since the company’s first phone hit the market, OnePlus has been telling its customers to “Never Settle”. But while their phones do pack beefy specs for minimal prices, every single one of OnePlus’ devices have indeed “settled” in one way or another. Now, even with the company’s most expensive “ultra-premium” OnePlus 7 Pro, we’re still settling, even if we’re getting a great deal.
OnePlus is a company that’s always made headlines for its powerful devices sold at low price points. In the Asian region, though, it seems the company wants to add another tactic. The latest brand ambassador for OnePlus is Robert Downey Jr., fresh off his appearance in Marvel’s record-breaking “Avengers: Endgame.”
One of the OnePlus 7 Pro’s most interesting new software additions courtesy of OxygenOS 9.5 was the new Zen Mode. There was also room for improvements to the night shooting mode, now updated to Nightscape 2.0. Thanks to an inquiry by Android Authority, OnePlus has confirmed that the relaxing Zen Mode will come to OnePlus 6T devices, but unfortunately, we won’t see Nightscape 2.0 on older OnePlus handsets.
Alongside the debut of the OnePlus 7 Pro, a new version of the OnePlus Camera app has also become available. In OnePlus Camera v3.2, users get deeper Google Lens integration, new settings, and also the ability to give a custom order for the various camera modes.
While the OnePlus 7 Pro took center stage, the OnePlus 7 was nowhere to be seen during the US and UK keynotes. And as odd as that seems, it turns out that the incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 6T simply won’t be heading Stateside in the near future — at the very least. To better understand why, we made a beeline to get hands-on with the OnePlus 7 at the UK launch event.
The OnePlus 7 Pro went official today and it’s an impressive device that many are already calling the best smartphone you can buy. Period. Outside of what was mentioned on stage, there are probably some bits of OnePlus 7 Pro news you missed, so let’s go over some of the smaller details.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is the most expensive device in the company’s history and to that end, some users are going to want to get a few extra dollars together before buying it. Now, the company has officially confirmed its first trade-in program, offering up to $449 towards a new OnePlus phone.
Today’s big OnePlus event delivered the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7. That standard, less expensive phone also isn’t coming to the United States. Instead, OnePlus is keeping the OnePlus 6T around and giving it a price drop.
There were times during the inception of OnePlus that a device like the OnePlus 7 Pro looked like it was simply a pipedream. Even despite an ever-growing market share and ravenous set of fans, OnePlus has continued with their ‘Never Settle’ motto, which has led us to their apex — the OnePlus 7 Pro.
