Battery life is something we simply never have enough of. Motorola, though, seemed to solve that problem last year with the Moto Z Play, which could easily get through multiple days on a single charge, thanks to a huge internal power pack. However, it’s looking like the Moto Z2 Play is unfortunately going to ditch the generous battery capacity…
Android tablets have not seen a significant update in ages, but Motorola is reportedly working on one that features a new “Productivity Mode.” However, it appears that the software takes a lot of inspiration from parent company Lenovo’s tablets.

Some of the best aspects of almost any Motorola device over the past few years have been fast updates and clean software. While the former of those is long gone, clean software is still very much present. Now, a sketchy report making its way through the Android blogosphere misleadingly suggests that Moto is ditching that for a heavy-handed custom software layer over Android.
That concern, which seems to be spreading quickly, is pretty much unfounded…

Lenovo is no stranger to Google’s Chrome OS and has, in fact, developed some pretty excellent options. Now, the company is back at it with its first big Chromebook release of 2017, the Lenovo Flex 11.

Last year’s Moto Z was a pretty solid phone, but I don’t think anyone can deny that the Moto Z Force was better. With improved battery life, the shatterproof display, and a more comfortable build, it was just no contest. Except for one thing. The Moto Z Force was an exclusive to Verizon. The Moto Z2 Force, though, may change that.

Following the first leaked image of the Moto Z2 Force earlier this week, new renders (via OnLeaks) showcase the device in all angles and note the surprising return of a headphone jack.

Last year’s Moto Z and Moto Z Force introduced something new from Motorola, and for the most part, they were pretty solid devices. Just this month, we first caught word of the potential branding of the phone’s successor, the Moto Z2, and now we’re getting our first potential look at the device.

Motorola’s Moto Z was a quiet favorite of ours last year, offering up something that was different from other phones on the market. Now, we’re heading towards Motorola’s next major release, apparently called the “Moto Z2,” because that’s original.

Amid several company-wide changes, Lenovo opted to not release a new Moto X last year. Rumors for that line have been rather sparse, but it now appears that there will be a 2017 model with more mid-range specifications thanks to a new leak.

WinFuture’s leakster Roland Quandt is out today with a previously-unseen look at the Moto G5 in a “Blue Sapphire” color. As you can see in the above image and the gallery below, the phone is identical to the G5 that was announced at MWC last month, with the exception of its new blue shade…

Early last year, Lenovo announced that it would phase out Motorola branding for ‘Moto by Lenovo.’ A year later, the Chinese parent company is backtracking and fully returning to the storied brand for future products.

While Lenovo’s strategy for high-end devices hasn’t convinced me, their idea of what a midrange or budget phone should do and be (and, most importantly, cost) is still more than valid. After all, it’s not too distant from the original Moto G’s philosophy, which was good and hasn’t changed much since.
So here’s what I learned by playing a little bit with the just-announced Moto G5 and G5 Plus in Barcelona…

One of the few solid Android tablets we saw in 2016 was the Yoga Book from Lenovo and as we enter 2017, the company isn’t holding back. We already saw the debut of the Yoga A12 earlier this month, and now at MWC, the company is debuting four new tablets that are actually pretty compelling…

Alongside the Moto G5 and G5 Plus announcements, Lenovo unveiled some new Moto Mods at its MWC event today. The company stressed during its presentation that Mods have become hugely important to the Moto brand since their launch with the Moto Z, and it’s introduced new partners to bring even more features to its flagship-tier devices.

Following a number of leaks, including specs, hardware, and even the retail packaging, Lenovo finally announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus today at MWC 2017. The Moto G5 continues the company’s successful G series of affordable smartphones, now bringing even more premium features like a metal design and a fingerprint sensor previously found only on the G Plus and Z series.

Modular smartphones haven’t taken off for a number of reasons, but one of the big ones is the fear that a year after purchasing your phone and bunch of mods, they’ll all become irrelevant with new hardware. Well, Motorola/Lenovo have just put those concerns to rest for Moto Mod owners.

Barcelona’s famous fair, the Mobile World Congress, is just around the corner. As always, (almost) all the big names in mobile will join the party to show the latest and greatest coming out of their R&D. And while Samsung’s absence may represent a hit for the general vibe of the coming days, there will certainly be no shortage of new products and announcements.
So let’s dig through them a bit…

You know that Lenovo is close to unveiling their new devices when retailers start to accidentally leak them online. This happened today when the Moto G5 Plus showed up on a Spanish electronic retailer’s website. While the listing has since been removed, Redditors were able to grab screenshot images of the mid-tier device and its specs…

Earlier today Lenovo unveiled a new version of its Yoga Book tablet from last year, the Yoga A12. The new larger, more affordable machine offers lesser specifications, but with the added screen real-estate and larger footprint the update makes total sense. My biggest question? Why is this not a Chromebook?

There hasn’t been much excitement in the world of Android tablets, but one option that impressed us in 2016 was Lenovo’s unique Yoga Book. Featuring a custom Android build, futuristic “halo” keyboard, and capable hardware, it was an excellent machine. Now, the company has debuted a new variant of that laptop/tablet hybrid, the Yoga A12.

Update: Republic Wireless has posted on its community forums that Motorola is currently rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat as a soak test to a limited number of unlocked Moto Z devices. In the post, the mobile carrier also confirmed that Motorola should rollout the update to all unlocked Moto Z models on February 17 if everything goes as planned.
Motorola hasn’t been as good as they once were when it came to updating their handset in a timely manner. Years ago, some of their phones had been updated to the latest version of Android even before Nexus devices. This is a thing of the past, though, as some Moto devices are now months behind on updates. Thankfully, it seems Motorola is now slowly rolling out Nougat to the unlocked Moto Z…

There hasn’t been hardly anything exciting in the tablet world for a while now, but Lenovo’s recent release of the Yoga Book actually caught our attention with new features and a pretty solid overall value. However, it wasn’t anywhere near perfect. Now, it looks like Lenovo is giving the form factor another shot with a new Yoga Book model, this time with a larger display and more affordable price point.

Going into 2017, not much is known about Lenovo’s upcoming Moto lineup. The company reportedly opted out of making a new Moto 360 for Android Wear 2.0‘s launch, while their flagship device has yet to leak. However, Moto is planning (via CNET) an event on February 26th at MWC.

Late last year, renders claimed that Lenovo was reviving the Moto X in 2017. Images have surfaced today from somebody claiming to be selling an identical looking phone. However, the key difference is that the device in question is apparently the Moto G5 Plus.
