Lenovo today officially unveiled the new Moto Z2 Force. As the successor to last year’s Z Force, the device has an identical footprint and is compatible with both old and new Moto Mods. Alongside the Z2 Force, Lenovo also showed off two new Mods: a gaming controller and a 360-degree camera.
Are Moto Mods enough to convince you to purchase the Moto Z2 Force?
Motorola’s had quite the busy year so far in 2017. It released two new additions to its ultra-popular Moto G line, revived the Moto E with the E4 and E4 Plus, kicked out the Z2 Play, and also introduced the Moto C and Moto M in countries outside of the US. Today marked the announcement of the Moto Z2 Force, and while the phone on its own looks fairly solid, it’s another perfect example of Motorola not listening to its customers. It’s a story we’ve seen before, and it’s one that I’m personally not a fan of in the slightest.

Tomorrow, Motorola will be taking the stage in New York City for what’s expected to be its biggest press conference of the year. Motorola was in New York this same time last year to unveil the Moto Z/Z Force, and this time around, we’re anticipating both the Moto X4 and Moto Z2 Force to be the stars of the show.

As previously leaked, Motorola is already planning an upgrade to the Moto G5 announced just this February. Referred to as a “special edition” in a new leak, the Moto G5S Plus features a dual-lens setup, larger display, and more premium materials.
Motorola has just announced that it’s hosting a July 25th press event in New York City. The invite comes as a number of leaks in recent weeks have showcased the Moto X4 and the rest of the Moto Z lineup.

Motorola made a big promise last year with Moto Mods, committing to 12 new options each year. After releasing a few with the Moto Z2 Play and showing off quite a few concepts back at MWC, the company has today shown off have a dozen more new Moto Mods at an event in Ghana.
Following its announcement last month, Motorola has today officially opened up sales of the successor to last year’s sleeper hit, the Moto Z Play, starting at just $400.
Motorola has had a tight grip on the budget phone space for years. The original Moto G launched a trend of affordable smartphones that still offered solid features and performance, and that eventually expanded to the Moto E series.
The Moto E4 is the company’s latest affordable smartphone, coming in at less than half the cost of the Moto G5 Plus. Past versions of the Moto E have too closely trodden the line between cost and performance, but this time Motorola might have gotten it just right.

Motorola’s smartphone announcements thus far in 2017 have been a bit disappointing. The company has announced four ultra-low-cost devices and the scaled back Moto Z2 Play, but nothing has really caught our attention. Now, though, things are looking to ramp up as the company prepares for an event on June 27th.
QR codes are really cool. The ability to point your smartphone camera at a blob of random black lines and have an easy link or message come from it is fascinating and useful, but hardly anyone uses them. There’s a reason for that, however.

Earlier this month, Motorola went further downmarket with the Moto C. However, the Lenovo-owned company is still iterating on the E line, with specs leak revealing another low-end device.
At MWC earlier this year, Lenovo unveiled the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. These were the successors to last year’s budget G4 and G4 Plus. Although the overall design did change and looks more premium than last year’s models, the G5 lineup is still in the budget realm. Thankfully, if you like the G5’s aesthetic, renders of the more powerful Moto G5S and G5S Plus have leaked which show off the handset’s metal build and the Plus’s dual-camera setup…
Battery life is something that’s on everyone’s minds, except for owners of the original Moto Z Play. With outstanding multi-day battery life, it’s a wonderful device for that reason alone. However, in its successor, Lenovo is cutting down on that feature, and it’s just confirmed the news on Twitter.
