Samsung has really ramped up the speed of their updates during the first quarter of 2019, but two notable absentees were the Verizon version of the Galaxy Note 9 and the unlocked US variants. Well, now the Verizon Galaxy Note 9 finally has Android Pie ready to download alongside the unlocked US model.
If you are on the T-Mobile network, the long wait for a taste of Android Pie on your Samsung Galaxy Note 9 should hopefully be over. The One UI update is now rolling out to T-Mobile locked Galaxy Note 9 devices right now.

Android Pie’s rollout has been slow, but as the third month of 2019 kicks off, we’re seeing more and more devices get the latest version of Android. To close out this week, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 is finally getting Android Pie on T-Mobile, while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is getting the update too.
Samsung first introduced the now infamous Bixby button on its Galaxy S8 and in the time since, users have been actively looking for ways to use it for other purposes. Now, Samsung has finally made that functionality available on several devices. Here’s how to remap the Bixby button on the Galaxy S10, S9, S8, Note 9, and Note 8.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 has the ability to remap the Bixby hardware button on the side of the device. We reported last week that this feature would be heading to more Samsung devices in the coming weeks, and now the feature available for older Galaxy devices (via SamMobile).
Just because the Samsung overload wasn’t quite done, there is more news about the sometimes infuriating Bixby button. Older Galaxy devices will receive an update to match the Galaxy S10’s ability to remap the button to a favored app in the coming weeks.

DxOMark has been testing smartphone cameras for a while now, but has just introduced scoring for front-facing selfie cameras. The Google Pixel 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have hit the top of the very first selfie leaderboard with a score of 92 respectively. The iPhone XS Max sits much lower with an overall ‘Selfie Score’ of 82.
The Android Pie update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was scheduled for a January rollout but according to Samsung’s Turkish portal Guncelmiyiz, the update may have been pushed back to February 1 at the earliest.

After a false start last week, Samsung has officially made its One UI beta program available to Galaxy Note 9 owners in the United States (as well as Korea and Germany). If you’ve got a Note 9 and want to try out Android Pie and Samsung’s One UI early, here’s how to sign up.
The One UI beta for Samsung devices is now available to Galaxy Note 9 users in Germany and India, this comes just after we saw the registration process appear (then disappear) for owners in the United States.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users have already had the opportunity to get on the Samsung One UI with the Android Pie beta, but now Note 9 users can register to get involved in this limited testing phase. The download isn’t yet available, but the registration process is now open to US users.
Samsung really seems to make an effort to create some great looking handsets that aren’t available outside of Asian markets and that tradition continues with the Galaxy Note 9 “First Snow White” version — available exclusively to Taiwan.
