Google ATAP first showed off the Jacquard fabric at Google I/O 2015, and at that time mentioned it was working with renowned San Francisco-based company Levi’s to produce some real products with the technology built-in. Now, more than two years later, the time has finally come. Google ATAP and Levi’s are launching their Trucker jacket with Jacquard built-in and it’ll be available on September 27th…

The ‘Frank.’ phone’s miserable story (likely) ends with Indiegogo closing its campaign
There’s a good reason you might not have heard of the “Frank.” phone. Basically, the project was a group of a few guys who tried — and seemingly failed — to launch a crowdfunding campaign for a smartphone on a simple idea: buy phones in bulk from China, act like they designed them, slap their brand on them, and profit. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the business plan, but it appears the way that “Frank.” was marketing itself was just a bit too sketchy for Indiegogo…
Exclusive: First unboxing of Google Glass Enterprise Edition [Gallery + Video]
It feels like it was forever ago that we first reported on the existence of the enterprise-focused Google Glass followup. That’s because it was — we first told you about Glass EE more than two years ago.
Now, we’ve finally managed to grab a pair for ourselves, and while we have lots of coverage lined up for the coming days and weeks, first thing’s first: the unboxing experience.

Moto G4 will get Android 8.0 Oreo after all, but it might take a while
We told you this morning about Motorola seemingly walking back its plan to bring Android Oreo to the Moto G4, but the company now says it didn’t walk back anything. Rather, it was a “miscommunication” caused by “errors in our marketing materials.”
Now, Motorola says in a statement it’s going to be rolling out Android O to the Moto G4, although it will “take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule.”

Yes, that Huawei-made ‘Nexus’ tablet was cancelled, and that’s probably a good thing
Last year we reported that Google was planning to launch an Android offshoot internally dubbed Andromeda on a Huawei-made Nexus tablet. The device was indeed prototyped in-house, and we weren’t the only ones to hear about it. At this point, though, we’re told “Andromeda” is shelved, and that the tablet will die without ever being seen by the public.
But we couldn’t help but try to dig up some more details before we close the book entirely on this one…

New Amazon Fire TV dongle leaks, looks a lot like the Chromecast Ultra
Amazon is reportedly working on two new Fire TV models, and they’ve leaked today in a couple new images (via AFTVNews). Both will reportedly be packing support for 4K HDR video at 60 fps.
But one of them looks a lot like a Google product you might be familiar with…
How Android One has changed, and why its US debut via the Moto X4 is likely imminent
Today we got our first look at an Android One-branded Moto X4 from the ever-reliable Evan Blass, but here’s something you might not be aware of: we’ve been tracking this story here at 9to5Google for more than half a year now. The first rumors of the program’s launch in the US popped up back in January, and a few months later we got a sizable dump of information about the program from a source, some of which we published in April.
So what’s happening? How has Android One changed? Is the Moto X4 going to be the first Android One phone for the United States?

Pixel 2 tidbits: ‘Kinda Blue’ model, 64GB and 128GB storage, likely IP68 water & dust resistance, always on display [Updated]
Update: We’ve now been provided an additional image of the Pixel 2 shown in these photos, proving that the Pixel 2 in “Kinda Blue,” which was revealed in a press render, is this same device. It just so happens that the lighting for these photos was not that great. The headline has been updated to reflect this. Here’s the first real-life look at the bottom of the device. There is a case wrapped around the device that we blurred out (as in the above image) because it could potentially identify our source.
With the release of the second generation Pixel phones drawing ever nearer, there aren’t many details about the Mountain View company’s forthcoming flagship handsets that we haven’t heard already. But 9to5Google has now obtained some new images of the smaller non-XL model from a trusted source, alongside a few little tidbits about the phone that haven’t been reported up to now…
