Playground AR Stickers Stories August 24

Since 2017, the Google Camera app has been home to fun AR stickers that let you liven up photos and videos. Later rebranded to Playground, Google is dropping support for these Playmoji characters on future Pixel devices, starting with the Pixel 4a.

The most obvious photography difference between the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a is the front-facing camera. An update to Playground this week adds a “Selfie mode” for AR Playmoji on Google’s mid-range Pixel phone.

Over the past few weeks, Google has been doubling down on the PIxel’s AR Emoji feature. Now, following the Childish Gambino and Valentine’s Day packs, Google has released Japanese Phrases for Playground on Pixel.
