Routines for Google Assistant rolling out in coming weeks w/ location reminders from Home

In addition to multilingual support, more languages, and deeper device integrations throughout 2018, Google Assistant is adding several features in the coming weeks. First announced at last year’s October 4th event, Routines will be available in the coming weeks, as well as setting location-based reminders from Google Home.

Google Assistant to gain multilingual support, more languages & deeper device integrations

As teased yesterday by Hiroshi Lockheimer’s MWC 2018 post, Google is heading into the mobile trade show with a number of Assistant announcements. With a focus on phone features, the smart Assistant will add more languages this year, as well as multilingual support. Meanwhile, Google has worked closely with OEMs to improve the Assistant experience on third-party devices.

Samsung appears to have resumed its Android Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S8/S8+

Android Oreo hasn’t quite taken the foothold that Google wants it to in regards the Android market as a whole. The main reason for that is easily OEMs who have yet to update their devices to the latest OS. Samsung is the biggest Android OEM, so any steps it makes in this area make a difference. Now, the company is resuming its Android Oreo rollout to the Galaxy S8 after halting it earlier this month.
