Could a physical keyboard phone like the Keyone become your daily driver? [Poll]

Our review of the BlackBerry Keyone dropped today and one of the smartphone’s standout features is its physical keyboard. The problem with the physical keyboard, though, is that while some people love using it to quickly write out a message, others dislike it because it’s always there and takes real estate away from a potentially larger display. Could a physical keyboard phone like the Keyone become your daily driver?

Google updates Android Beta Program website to reflect imminent launch of Android O beta

For the last two Android releases, Google’s beta program has allowed Nexus and then Pixel users to test out upcoming features and builds before anyone else. Although these builds were typically buggy, it didn’t stop hardware fans from running it on their main devices. Now that Android O’s developer preview has been available for a few months, we’ve been waiting for Google to update its public beta program for the upcoming version of Android, and it appears to be happening soon…

Comment: BlackBerry Keyone made me realize I don’t want a physical keyboard anymore

Being a millennial, I grew up using flip phones and, later, “smartphones” from BlackBerry and Palm that offered physical keyboards. I loved these types of phones because I could type on them so much faster than the outgoing T9 format. And as the world moved towards modern day smartphones, I’ve long wished I could get another phone with a physical keyboard.

That was until I used the BlackBerry Keyone for several weeks…

How to change the BlackBerry Keyone’s recent apps screen layout

Out of the box, the BlackBerry Keyone has a very stock Android look and feel, albeit with some small tweaks. Other than the added BlackBerry security features and applications, one of the biggest differences of the Keyone compared to the stock Android interface is the recent app section’s layout. Thankfully, there is a way to change it…

Which operating system do you think is better for budget laptops, Chrome OS or Windows 10 S? [Poll]

Love it or hate it, Windows is an operating system that is widely used in almost every sector. Windows main issue, though, is that it requires a lot of horsepower to run smoothly. This meant that the full version of the OS wasn’t ideal for low-end laptops, a market currently dominated by Google’s Chrome OS. Now, that might be changing. Do you think that the introduction of Windows 10 S will take market share away from Chome OS in the budget category?

Are you supporting your favorite YouTube creators, if so how? [Poll]

Something that we’ve all heard a lot about, especially lately, is that money just isn’t there for many YouTubers anymore. The latest reasoning for all of this is that some advertisers do not like the content their ads have been placed next to and have pulled them from the platform. Unfortunately, this means that content creators are seeing a cut in their paychecks. Now that your favorite channels might be in financial trouble, how are you helping them keep the lights on?

Which appliances around your home would be a good fit for Google Assistant? [Poll]

Site default logo image

One of the ways that we’ve seen companies like Amazon grow its smart voice assistants is by letting third-party developers build it into their products. At this year’s CES, it was hard to find a product that didn’t have Amazon Echo functionality. Now, Google has released the Google Assistant SDK so that developers can start implementing it into products. What smart appliances do you want to have Assistant built-in?

Which is more BS: AT&T’s ‘5G’ or Verizon’s $70 Fios plan that costs exponentially more? [Poll]

Site default logo image

Over the last two days, we’ve had two of the US’s biggest mobile technology conglomerates announce new technologies and deals that aren’t exactly as they seem. These are AT&T’s announcement of “5G Evolution” and Verizon’s brand new $70 Fios gigabit plan. With each not being what they’re advertised, which do you think is more misleading?

Would you ever buy a Jump rig? [Poll]

Site default logo image

Google introduced Jump almost two years ago at its annual developer conference as a 360-degree platform that combined a multi-camera rig and specialized software that stitches it all together. Since that time, Google has worked with GoPro and now Yi to create Jump rigs for the two company’s cameras. If you could, would you purchase a jump camera rig to capture 360-degree videos?

Bixby Vision’s ability to shop on Amazon is missing from the Galaxy S8 on Verizon

Site default logo image

Samsung went all in with its virtual assistant called Bixby by adding a physical button to the left side of the handset that isn’t supposed to be remapped to do anything else. Unfortunately, though, at the time of the Galaxy S8’s launch, Bixby is not complete. Now, according to Cnet and other independent sources, it looks like Bixby is even less operational on those Galaxy S8 units from Verizon…

Are you picking up the Galaxy S8/S8+ or are you waiting for the Note 8 (or something else)? [Poll]

Site default logo image

Last year, before its eventual recall and discontinuing, the Note 7 seemed like the phone to beat. It not only packed in everything that people loved about the Galaxy S7 but it also featured some neat new tricks thanks to its S-Pen. Unfortunately, it was discontinued but now we have the Galaxy S8. With the Note 7’s reputation of being one of the best phones of 2016 (minus the whole battery exploding situation), are you going to pick up the Galaxy S8 or wait for the presumably even better Note 8?
